Maia Szulik

Research Data Tech II

Maia Szulik joined the Center for Child and Family Policy as a Bilingual Research Data Tech in June 2022. As a Sociologist with an MS in Anthrozoology, she is excited to bring her previous experiences in research, outreach, and childhood & family education to her new role.

Szulik has worked on research projects with topics ranging from families and children to pets in underserved communities. Throughout her career, she has been involved with academic coaching, childcare, tobacco cessation, family services, and public health consulting. Szulik has also translated and culturally adapted media literacy programs to improve how children interpret messages about substance use in the media.

Szulik was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to Durham in 1998 for her father’s MBA at Fuqua.
