Therapy Dogs Visit

Join us to say, “hello!”

On Wednesday, August 28, take a break from the first week of classes to visit with our therapy dog teams. We will be visited by three teams:

  • Sarah and Star
  • Mamata and Risto
  • Nan and Axel

Research shows pet therapy is an effective form of psychotherapy intervention that reduces stress and depression. Plus, they’re cute! A therapy dog team refers to a dog and its owner. Both are evaluated and certified by Canines for Service to provide animal-assisted activities.  Volunteers will be seated on the Sanford Lawn patio with their therapy dog partner. Students, faculty, and staff are invited to sit and chat with our volunteers and interact with the therapy dogs.
