Garmah Sumo
Overview
Garmah holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and has professional experience working as a caseworker in a pediatric clinic within a hospital setting. In this role, she supported children and families from a large, diverse population by providing care coordination, advocacy, and linkage to community resources. Her direct work with families deepened her commitment to service and has been a key factor in her decision to pursue a Master of Social Work in the near future.
After recently relocating from New York City, Garmah is eager to continue developing her professional skills while contributing to meaningful, client-centered work. She is also excited to explore what the Research Triangle area has to offer, both professionally and personally. Her strengths include effective communication, collaboration, and culturally responsive support. Outside of work, she maintains an interest in health/wellness and values activities that promote personal well-being.
