Addy Rigdon joined the Center in December 2016 as a senior research aide. She works on two projects, Book Babies and the East Durham Children’s Initiative. A native of the Triangle, she was born and raised in Carrboro and went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Rigdon graduated in May 2016 with a B.A. in psychology and Hispanic linguistics.
Rigdon became interested in child and family policy through her work as a camp director, volunteer, and tutor for at-risk youth. She is interested in early childhood health and development promotion and hopes to pursue a career aimed at understanding and breaking down barriers to learning and development.
